Description

All the stoneware is in the form of Bartmann or bearded man jugs, this being a classic Frechen form widely exported and very common on shipwreck sites. There are nine fragments of SCW1537 (Figure 18), which has a well defined medallion that bears splashes of blue in the glaze.
